Künstler: Tobias Faulhammer (guit), Gregor Aufmesser (b), Jakob Kammerer (dr)
Since their formation in 2022, guitarist Tobias Faulhammer, double bassist Gregor Aufmesser, and drummer Jakob Kammerer have cultivated a musical language rooted in communication, curiosity, and collective intuition. Their focus remains the exploration of Faulhammer’s original compositions — pieces designed as open frameworks that invite interaction, allow spontaneous shifts, and highlight the trio’s gift for fine detail and nuance. From the outset, the ensemble has embraced the spirit of a true working trio: continuously developing its identity, expanding its repertoire, and refining a sound that bridges tradition with the present moment. With influences ranging from the John Scofield Trio to Bill Frisell, the three musicians move confidently between structured forms and improvisational freedom, always prioritizing clarity, interplay, and a shared sense of direction.
The trio has also presented its versatility in interdisciplinary contexts—most notably in a literature-and-music crossover project featuring acclaimed Austrian actor Cornelius Obonya and well-known news anchor Armin Wolf.
Their debut album Tres Caballeros (2024, cracked anegg rec.) was met with warm reception from the press, highlighting the Trio’s cohesive sound and distinctive artistic voice. The subsequent BMKOESsupported release tour brought them to stages across Austria, Germany, and Hungary.
With their second studio album Ascension the Trio presents the next chapter of their artistic evolution. Ascension deepens their signature sound while broadening their musical horizon—aiming not only to strengthen their profile at home but also to establish a more prominent presence across the European jazz landscape.
