As with her first solo album, “Brothers,” released in 2021 (nominated for the Amadeus Award and the German Record Critics’ Award in 2022), personal experiences serve as the starting point for cellist Sophie Abraham’s compositions on her second solo album, “THE BEAUTY IN BETWEEN.”

With her instrument, she explores uncharted paths along quiet and healing explosions that gently shatter musical labels and stereotypes and expand musical genres. The result is a compelling plea for the relevance of the in-between.

“THE BEAUTY IN BETWEEN” is an ode to the power of the spaces in between, to the infinite facets of androgyny and the indefinable. Sophie Abraham’s music is at once a musical, personal, and sociopolitical statement celebrating the beauty of diversity—beyond divisions, boundaries, and exclusion.
